Outdoor furniture treated with weather sealer.

It’s time to add water sealer to you outdoor furniture.    I use Thompson’s WaterSeal.  Follow the easy instructions, do this yearly and you’ll have long lasting beautiful outdoor furniture.  Here is the furniture I recently built with sealer applied, sitting in the rain.

Live Edge Table

This is a table I made from a beautiful piece of walnut and some maple legs that had just been laying around the shop for some time.  After walking by my wood supply everyday, I finally decided these two were going to be my next project.  Here is a before picture of all the parts in a pile and then some progression to the completion.  I sanded the legs down to their original color and applied two coats of wipe on clear poly.  The table top I sanded down smooth and added some walnut wood filler ( It did match before poly was applied) to fill in holes for leg hardware.  I applied 9 coats of wipe on poly to achieve a nice glossy top.

Miter Saw Station

Updating  and rearranging things in the shop.  I Moved a couple of work benches together to make a miter saw station.   I also put a shop vac underneath it for easy on/off when saw is in use.  I will be adding a fence and stop blocks along with measuring tapes in near future.

Drill Press Table

This is a drill press table I made out of some left over melamine.  The dimensions are 15″ x 18″ x 1 1/2 “.  I cut two pieces of the melamine and added hinges  on the back ,  so that I could conceal the mounting hardware.  I also cut a 5″x 5″ square out of the center for thru cuts with the drill bits.  The T-tracks where added for the adjustable  fence and hold down hardware as well as stop blocks for exact repeat cuts.  The tracks will also increase safety when used with hold down clamps.

Have a seat!

My First Attempt at a Adirondack double Chair and table combo with adjustable backs. I flipped the long frame legs over to set the chair at a normal sitting height. I cant stand to sit in a chair thats a lowrider. The second picture is of the material after I milled and shaped. The third picture is the beginning frame work.The fourth picture is of the fan seat backs. The fifth Picture is of the seat backs installed on the frame.  The Sixth picture is of the completed chair with it in its tilted mode. Of course the first picture is of my shop dog  Roscoe staking his claim on the work just completed. I haven’t put a finish on it yet as my wife and I are contemplating staining it or clear coat. Thanks for looking.

These are some sushi plates that I made to submit to sushi restaurants.  They are mostly made of walnut, maple and cherry.  The finish is a home blend of bees wax and mineral oil.
